By the end of this unit you will:-
a) be able to identify an adjective and an adverb and know how adjectives and adverbs work

b) be able to identify the different articles and know the difference between definite and indefinite articles

c) know the different uses of capitals

d) be able to identify the different types of punctuation and be able to use the different types of punctuation

e) know when to use and when not to use the apostrophe

f) be able to identify a noun, know the difference between various types of nouns and be able to use nouns appropriately

g) be able to identify a gerund and know when to use the gerund

h) be able to identify prepositions and know when to use prepositions

i) have some insight into the rules of spelling and also some problem areas in relation to spelling

j) have some knowledge of the different tenses and know when to use the appropriate tense

k) have some knowledge of the different types of verbs and know how to use verbs

l) know what a phrasal verb is and how to use phrasal verbs
