A proposito di questo corso
Alla fine di questa unità sarai in grado di:
a) utilizzare espressioni appropriate per salutare e interagire con i pazienti alla
reception e dare indicazioni in un ospedale
b) essere in grado di comunicare le modalità di ricovero ai pazienti
c) usare il vocabolario sulle parti del corpo e sugli organi interni e usare il vocabolario connesso con le attrezzature necessarie per controllare il paziente
d) spiegare le procedure quando si prendono i segni vitali e compilare i moduli di osservazione
e) utilizzare il vocabolario dei sistemi corporei e collegarlo ai reparti specializzati in un ospedale e condurre una valutazione medica e una documentazione completa
f) scoprire e rispondere alle esigenze del paziente dopo l’intervento chirurgico nel recupero in stanza, in reparto e valutare il dolore del paziente in termini di intensità
g) leggere una tabella di prescrizione IV e una tabella dei fluidi IV
Syllabus
Unit 1 - At the Reception: Admitting Patients
a) use appropriate expressions to greet and interact with patients at the reception desk b) give directions in a hospital c) be able to communicate procedures for admission to patients d) be able to make the patients welcome e) use questions in the Present Tense to ask for information
Unit 2 - The Human Body: Taking Admission Obs
a) use vocabulary on the parts of the body and internal organs b) use vocabulary connected with equipment necessary to take patient observations c) explain procedures when taking vital signs d) fill in observation forms
Unit 3 - Admitting Patients: Assessment Record Interview
a) use vocabulary of the body systems and connect it to the specialised departments in a hospital b) interview a patient using appropriate body language and effective questions to conduct a medical assessment c) complete a patient assessment form using the appropriate language
Unit 4 - Post Operative Care
a) find out and respond to patient needs after surgery in the recovery unit and in the ward b) assess patient pain in terms of intensity c) give instructions on how to change an IV line to a trainee nurse d) explain the changing of IV procedure to a patient e) read an IV prescription chart and an IV fluid chart
